What is Alpacto?

Alpacto is an app for small agreements between people who share a home: partners, family, roommates and friends. A task, a routine, a challenge or a friendly bet becomes a pact that both people see on their phones, with a clear finish, coins and a reward they chose together. Alpacto runs on iPhone and Android.

What a pact is

A pact is an agreement between two people written down in the app: what needs to happen, who does it, by when, what counts as done and what it is worth. One person does the thing and the other confirms it. There are four kinds:

  • Task: one thing, done once, such as taking the bins out.
  • Routine: a repeating habit with visible check-ins and a streak, such as dishes after dinner.
  • Challenge: a goal with a finish line and a reward at the end, such as thirty days of morning walks.
  • Bet: two sides, clear stakes and an outcome both people call, such as who finishes the book first.

How a pact works

  1. Add the other person. Send a personal link or a code; they confirm it.
  2. Write the agreement. What needs to happen, who does it, by when, what counts as done and what it is worth.
  3. Do it and check in. One person does the thing and the other confirms it.
  4. Collect the reward. Coins add up to a reward you chose together.

Who uses it

Couples who split chores without one person managing the other, roommates who share a kitchen, parents and teenagers who agree on jobs and rewards, and friends who keep a habit or settle a bet. The same structure fits all of them: the agreement is between two named people.

What Alpacto is not

Coins, stakes and debts in Alpacto are records between two people. They are not money, not a means of payment and not gambling, and they cannot be sold or withdrawn.

Alpacto is not a social network either: there is no feed, no people search and no public profile. You add someone only with a personal link or a code, and they confirm it.

The free resources on this site

Alongside the app, this site publishes free printable chore charts in US Letter and A4 with no email required. It also has calculators for splitting chores by the minute, rent by room and shared monthly costs, and guides for couples and families with kids. How these pages are written and sourced is described in our methodology.
